So your thinking of Walking the Wainwrights also known as Bagging the Wainwrights, a term used by those of us who set out with the intention to complete the group of summits as described in his pictorial guides.

Alfred Wainwright MBE compiled his Pictorial guides between 1952 and 1966 or as he called them 'his labour of love'.

After his death in 1991 a memorial was unveiled in the little church at Buttermere, above the village on his favourite fell Haystacks, his ashes were scattered.

There are 214 summits in his pictorial guides we have plotted the best routes to incorporate them all in 71 walks we will be walking them all in 2011. Some walks only feature once on our diary often due to location/accessibility other have a choice of available dates.

These walks are suited to all abilities, we don't rush you along, we take breaks for views/photo's, lunch and just because you want a break. Children and well behaved dogs are welcome.
