"You never climb the same mountain twice, not even in memory. Memory rebuilds the mountain, changes the weather, retells the jokes, remakes all the moves."
Lito Tejada-Flores

The views of Buachaille Etive Mor from the roadside near the Kingshouse Inn are one of the most famous mountain views in Britain and the direct routes to the summit of Stob Dearg are serious mountaineering routes.

A good path however climbs through Coire na Tulaich giving a wonderful walking route to the summits above. This route takes in the Munros of Stob Dearg and Stob na Broige.

Summits included on this route:

Stob Dearg
1021 metres/3349 feet
Stob na Broige
956 metres/3136 feet

"Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb."
Greg Child

From the Glencoe Valley we will climb through the Coire na Tulaich, a steep path at times giving us access to the high summits beyond, a short climb from the top of the Coire leads us to the summit of Stob Dearg, our first and highest summit of the day.

The views from the summit are magnificent, particularly too the north east where the ground drops steeply over the massive cliffs to the flatness of Rannoch Moor far below.

From the summit of Stob Dearg we will follow the ridge south, a fine walk leading to the second summit of the day, Stob na Broige.

From here we will descend north to the banks of the River Coupall and follow this back to the A82 and our start point.

Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Equipment Required.
