"A favourite of all fellwalkers, Bowfell is a mountain that commands attention whenever it appears in view."
A Wainwright

Bowfell high above the Langdale Valley is ranked as the sixth highest mountain in the Lake District and is regarded by many as one of the best few!

The conical summit is easily visible from much of the Lake District and the rocky summit is as all should be. From the summit can be seen the best view of the Scafell range.

Several wonderful routes lead to the summit of Bowfell, particular favourites being the ridge along The Crinkle Crags and the route that climbs by the Great Slab almost directly to the summit.
