Do you want to learn the basics of rock climbing? Thinking about progressing outdoors from indoor climbing? Or are you looking for a fun activity for yourself or the whole family?

Why not join one of our rock climbing sessions and let our fully qualified instructors teach you the basics of rock climbing in safety on one of the wonderful crags in the Lake District.

The day will include several 'single pitch' rock climbs and abseiling.

The Venue:
There are several good crags in the Borrrowdale Valley, we will use one of these.

Directions:
We will meet at Stonethwaite, in the Borrowdale Valley.
From Keswick: Follow the Borrowdale Road south (from the mini roundabout, passing Booths Supermarket) continue on this road alongside Derwentwater to Rosthwaite.

Pass through the village of Rosthwaite and shortly after the village a lane will be seen to the left, signposted to Stonethwaite and The Langstrath Inn, turn left here and park on the roadside where the road takes two sharp bends, just before the school, we will meet on the corner by the church.

Equipment:

The Lake District Walker is able to provide limited equipment for use by clients, this includes waterproof clothing and warm clothing.

Each client is expected to bring suitable personal equipment, this should include the following:

Rock Climbing:

climbing shoes if owned or trainers
Waterproof clothing (Jacket and trousers)
Warm tops
Packed lunch
Spare clothing
Water
strong shoes / boots (some crags are a short walk from the road)
