The Loweswater Fells are a beautiful part of the Lake District, well off the beaten track, but well worth exploring. Loweswater is a stunning lake lined to the south by Holme Wood, we climb above the woods with stunning views over the trees to the water below. The summits of the Loweswater Fells also are particularly scnic, to the east are the higher fells around Crummock Water and to the west is the wide expanse of the Solway Firth and Scotland. |

The lake is unusual in the radial drainage pattern of the Lake District in draining towards the centre of the District: its outfall, Dub Beck, becomes Park Beck and runs east or south-east into the north end of Crummock Water, close to that lake's exit. By way of the River Cocker and River Derwent, Loweswater's contents eventually reach the sea at Workington. |
