"Doubly happy, however, is the man to whom lofty mountain-tops are within reach."
John Muir

This mountain navigation and skills course is ideal for anyone that wants to be self sufficient in the mountains of the UK.

This course is ideal for anyone with little or no prior navigation experience. Whether you are a hill walker who wants to be able to head out in all weathers, considering enrolling on the Mountain Leader scheme, or a walker who would like to get a little more adventurous on the mountains.

The course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18, there is no maximum age and we regularly get a mixture of ages and experience and are used to tailoring the course to meet the needs of a varied group of people.

The first two days of the course will be based in the Langdale Valley, there is plenty of choice of accommodation including two good youth hostels and several campsites, the Wednesday and Thursday nights will be spent wild camping.

"It's a round trip. Getting to the summit is optional, getting down is mandatory."
