Mungrisdale Common
|
"There is little point in providing diagrams of ascent that will never be used. Only shepherds are likely to wander across the top of the Common, and they know the way to it well enough already." |
A. Wainwright

North of Blencathra the land descends gently over grassy slopes, the one high point on this descent is Mungrisdale Common, barely a separate summit in it's own right, there is less than 10m of climb to the summit cairn when descending from Blencathra.
Gentle grassy slopes descend from Mungrisdale Common to the north and west, to the west Sinen Gill descends making a good route, with some interest, and views of the Skiddaw Granite protruding from the gill.
