A wonderful day today climbing Sallows and Sour Howes from Troutbeck, perfect clear views and wall to wall sunshine as we took in these two lesser walked summits at the southern edge of the Lake District.
We set off from Troutbeck Church to climb Sallows and Sour Howes just after 10am and headed up the Garburn Road from The Howe, the view as we climbed the track were glorious this morning and the only improved as we got higher.
There was a little snow on the high tops again today and in the shade the path had some ice on it, the first real frost of the autumn.
