Scafell Pike from Seathwaite

We set out from Seathwaite to climb Scafell Pike, the weather was ideal.

We made good progress climbing towards Scafell Pike, climbing up to Sty Head Tarn and then joined The Corridor Route up to Lingmell Col. Here we made the short detour up to Lingmell Summit, the views were great and we had the summit to ourselves on this busy day.

Dropping back down we started the final push to Scafell Pike England's highest summit. Reaching the top  again we had great views in every direction, even the Isle of Man and Scotland could be seen alas a bit hazy.

We then crossed the plateau and decided to go up to the summit of Great End to get the view back down the valley and see Scafell Pike looming, now behind us.

From here we dropped down to Esk Hause and the picked up the path and  followed Grains Gill back to Stockley Bridge and then to Seathwaite Farm.

A great day with great company and even celebrating a big 'even' number Birthday in the group, what more could you ask for than a clear sunny day on Scafell Pike, If we'd know we'd of packed a cake.

Well done everyone and Happy Birthday! mentioning no names.
