Grisedale Pike

"All visitors to Lakeland who come to walk the fells turn their footsteps in due course to Grisedale Pike." |

Grisedale Pike, dominates the skyline above Braithwaite and is prominent on the skyline from Keswick, it's fine slender pointed summit attracts the eye.
The long northern ridge of Kinn rising above the village of Braithwaite makes a wonderful ascent, a long ridge walk climbing in sections until the final rocky climb leads to the summit of Grisedale Pike.
Grisedale Pike is usually traversed as part of the Coledale Horseshoe, crossing Coledale Hause to Crag Hill and returning to Braithwaite over Causey Pike, but many other good routes can be made on Grisedale Pike, the fine ridge from Lanthwaite Green crossing Whiteside, Hopegill Head and Grisedale Pike makes one of the best linear walks in the Lake District, while several good and easy routes climb Grisedale Pike from Whinlatter Pass climbing either the Black Crag and Hobcarton End ridge to the summit or the north east ridge, these two fine ridges making a good short circuit.
