The ridge to the west of the Vale of Lorton, although not great in height has two summits which are a rewarding short excursion, Low Fell at the southern end of the ridge has wonderul views over Loweswater and the Buttermere Valley while at the northern end of the ridge Fellbarrow has extensive views over the Solway coast to soutern Scotland.
