The Loweswater Fells are a beautiful part of the Lake District, well off the beaten track, but well worth exploring.
Loweswater is a stunning lake lined to the south by Holme Wood, we climb above the woods with stunning views over the trees to the water below.
The summits of the Loweswater Fells also are particularly scenic, to the east are the higher fells around Crummock Water and to the west is the wide expanse of the Solway Firth and Scotland.
Summits included on this route:
Burnbank Fell475 metres / 1558 feet
Blake Fell573 metres / 1880 feet
Gavel Fell526 metres / 1726 feet
From Maggie's Bridge we will climb onto the spectacular terraced path above Holme Wood and Loweswater following this path to climb to the summit of Burnbank Fell, a grassy summit with spectacular views over the west coast of Cumbria and the Solway Firth.
From Burnbank Fell we will follow the path climbing to the summit of Carling Knott, not a Wainwright summit, but from the northern summit there are magnificent views down over Loweswater below.
A short walk from Carling Knott brings us to the summit of Blake Fell, the highest of the Loweswater Fells.
We will continue along the ridge to the summit of Gavel Fell, with views over Ennerdale, before turning north and descending by High Nook Tarn, a real undiscovered gem of a tarn above Loweswater and then descending back to Maggie's Bridge.
Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above.

Yes, dogs are allowed on all our walks.
