Gavel Fell, to the south east of Blake Fell is part of a rewarding circuit of the Loweswater Fells including Burnbank Fell and Blake Fell along with the walk around Holme Wood above Loweswater.

Th ascent from Maggie's Bridge via High Nook Farm is a particularly good route, stopping by High Nook Tarn en-route.
