A 24 hour challenge to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, these being:

  • Ben Nevis (Scotland) 1344m / 4408ft
  • Scafell Pike (England) 978m / 3210ft
  • Mount Snowdon (Wales) 1085m / 3560ft

The challenge is to climb all 3 peaks in 24 hours, including the travel time between walks.

We begin our attempt in Scotland, meeting at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon, departing for the first leg of the challenge, Ben Nevis, at 5pm. Climbing from Glen Nevis to the summit of Ben Nevis, we will be aiming to be up and down Ben Nevis in around 5 hours.

Hot food and drinks will be ready for us as we arrive back at the mini bus where we will then depart for our journey to The Lake District.

In the early hours of Sunday morning we will depart from Wasdale to climb Scafell Pike, with hopefully a view of the sun rising as we set out we will aim to climb and descend Scafell Pike within 5 hours, returning again for hot food and drinks at Wasdale before departing for the trip to Snowdonia.

Arriving shortly after midday we will depart from the mini bus at Pen Y Pass climbing one of the easier routes up Mount Snowdon aiming to return to the mini bus by 5pm to complete The Three Peaks Challenge and celebrate.

After the challenge we will be able to drop clients off at several locations, including accommodation in Llanberis, Manchester airport and railway stations en route back to the Lakes.

Joss Naylor & Frank Davies - 1971: 11 hours 54 minutes
The fastest time on record for the National 3 Peaks Challenge was reccorded bu the legendary Joss Naylor & Frank Davies in 1971 clocking an amazing time of 11 hours and 54 minutes. This was completed using a Ford Capri rally car before the national speed limit was introduced.
