"You never climb the same mountain twice, not even in memory. Memory rebuilds the mountain, changes the weather, retells the jokes, remakes all the moves."
Lito Tejada-Flores

High above the wonderful Glencoe Valley the Aonach Eagach ridge is rightly considered one of the greatest mountaineering challenges in the UK, the long narrow ridge offers some of the best ridge walking and scrambling on the mainland.

This route tackles the length of the ridge walking from east to west. Why not let one of our highly qualified instructors guide you through one of Britains classic mountain days.

Summits included on this route:

Meall Dearg
953 metres/3145 feet
Sgorr nam Fiannaidh
967 metres/3172 feet

"Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb."
Greg Child

From the Glencoe Valley we will climb by Allt Ruigh to the summit of Sron Gharbh, allthough not classed as a Munro our first summit of the day, from here the ridge continues to the west climbing to Am Bodach, this is where the route becomes interesting, at times the ridge is narrow and requires some scrambling as well as a head for heights, but the ridge and the views are magnificent as we traverse the ridge to the summit of Meall Dearg and cross Stob Coire Leith to the summit of Sgorr nam Fiannaidh.

A magnificent ridge, not to be underestimated, but a thoroughly rewarding day in the mountains.

Should weather conditions not be suitable then the instructor on the day will offer a suitable alternative, possible the wonderful Bidean Nam Bian on the southern side of the Glencoe Valley.

Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Equipment Required.
