A wonderful route climbing some fine ridges above the Patterdale Valley and taking in the summit of Thornthwaite Crag as well as the lesser trodden fells of Gray Crag, Caudale Moor and Hartsop Dodd. |
|
"For a few miles along the road from Patterdale to Kirkstone, Hartsop Dodd has the form of a steep sided conical hill, rising like a giant tumulus from the flat floor of the valley." |
