Scafell Pike from Seathwaite

We set out from Seathwaite to climb Scafell Pike, with the cloud hanging at about 700 meters (here it remained all day).

We set off towards Scafell Pike following the track to Stockley Bridge then up to Sty Head  the wind was gusting well at times but the rain stayed away. Joining The Corridor route we picked our way along crossing many full gills. We decided to grab lunch at Lingmell Col and made good use of the group shelter.

After lunch we had the final pull up to Scafell Pike this was rather windy in places and in thick cloud. The summit soon appear curtained by mist. We couldn't see far but it was great to have reached England's Highest Peak.  We took some pictures and some with the Ghana flag which has travelled to many summits with its owner.

We retraced our route back down as the weather was rough over the top and one of us needed to catch a train so we took the slightly quicker route.

A pleasant day with great company. Well done!
