A great low level walk following the Langdale Valley from the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel to Ambleside, a beautiful valley full of tarns and wonderful scenery.

From the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel we will follow the track along the southern side of the valley, by Oak How and along Great Langdale Beck to New Bridge and Chapel Stile.

From Chapel Stile a good path leads along the river to Elterwater Village, a beautiful village in the heart of Langdale, and follow the path along the river to Elterwater.

The path continues along some of the best stretches of the river until we reach Skelwith Bridge from where we will climb the short hill to Loughrigg Tarn, on of the best viewpoints of the Langdale Pikes.

A good track leads from Loughrigg Tarn across the fellside descending to the Underloughrigg Road where a path leads into Ambleside across the park.

Location Info	The Bridge House is easily found in Ambleside Village, on the A591 Rydal Road, just north of the centre of the village towards the Rydal Road Car Park and the mini roundabout. The Bridge House will be found on the left of the road, opposite the SR Cunninghams / Jack Wolfskin shop. The Bridge House, a small house built on a bridge over the beck is now a National Trust gift shop, we will meet outside the shop.
