The Route:
From Stannah we will follow the St John's Valley to reach the 'Old Coach Road', after following this for a short while we will climb via Threlkeld Knotts to the summit of Clough Head. Following the ridge south we will cross Great Dodd, Watson's Dodd and Stybarrow Dodd before descending from Sticks Pass back to Stannah.
A gentle walk over relativly easy ground this is a gentle walk with great views over the surrounding country.

Directions:
From Keswick – Follow the A591 south, signposted to Ambleside and Windermere. Follow this road past Dale Bottom and along a short section of dual carriageway, shortly after the dual carriageway a turning to the left will be seen, the St John’s in the Vale road. A small parking area will be found just off the junction, we will meet here.
From Windermere / Ambleside etc. – Follow the A591 north past Grasmere and Thirlmere. Just after the lake a turning leads to the right, signposted the St John’s in the Vale road, turn off here and park in the parking area just off the junction, we will meet here.
