Grange Fell
|
"Grange Fell is nothing on the map, everything when beneath one's feet." |
A.W Wainwright
|
A wonderful rambling little fell set in the heart of the stunning Borrowdale Valley.
Grange Fell in fact has three main summits, Brund Fell, the rocky summit is the highest point and gives wonderful views over the southern end of the Borrowdale Valley; Kings How gives some of the most magnificent views over Derwentwater and across the lake towards Keswick and the northern fells of Skiddaw, the more remote third summit of Ether Knott is a quieter, more remote and heathery peak, somewhere to stop and relax on a sunny day.
The lower slopes of Grange Fell are a woonderful jumble of wooded slopes and rocky crags including Bowderstone Crag, Grange Crags and the dramatic Black Crag above Troutdale.
