Langdale Valley Walk

Langdale Valley Walk

"Splendid views and contrasting scenery, consistent only in it's loveliness."
A.W Wainwright

One of the most scenic valleys in the Lake District must be the Great Langdale Valley, the western end of the valley is surrounded by high mountains, The Crinkles and Bowfell to the south and The Langdale Pikes to the north.

Along the valley runs the River Brathay, a scenic river often overlooked by many looking up at the mountains.

This route takes in many of the best features of the valley walking from the New Dungeon Ghyll along the River Brathay for much of it's length and exploring many hidden gems of the Langdale Valley, including Loughrigg Tarn and Elterwater.
