Saint Sundays Crag

"How encouraging that splendid remote places like this can still be found in our fells." |
A.W Wainwright

Saint Sunday Crag, the north eastern ridge of Fairfield has an imposing appearance from most angles, a wonderful narrow ridge climbing from Deepdale Hause broadens at the summit, with steep drops to either side. Both the summit of St Sundays Crag and Gavel Pike, a short walk to the east of the true summit, offer wonderful views east over the High Street range and south west to the steep crags of Fairfield.
As well as the fine ridge walk over St Sundays Crag there are several other routes to St Sundays Crag, one of the most famous being Pinnacle Ridge, a steep rocky scramble (Grade 3) climbing a wonderful steep arête which culminates in the crossing of a series of rocky pinnacles before emerging on easy ground a short walk from the summit.
