Watsons Dodd
|
"Whoever Mr Watson may have been, it is a very odd Dodd that has been selected to perpetuate his name." |
A.W Wainwright

The three 'Dodds' to the north of Sticks Pass form a grassy undulating ridge with easy walking , Watson's Dodd is the middle of these three peaks and the best viewpoint over the mountain scenery to the west, much of the Lake District can be seen from the summit.
The lower slopes offer much of interest, the grassy slopes eventually give way too steep rocky faces towards St John's In The Vale with waterfalls cascading down to the valley floor. Foremost of these rocky faces is The Castle Rock Of Triermain, or Castle Rock, a prominent view from the main road between Thirlmere and Keswick and well known in rock climbing circles for it's many classic routes.
