The craggy heather covered slopes to the north of Glenridding make an enjoyable shorter days walk, stunning views over Ullswater are the reward for anyone who climbs to the summits of Glenridding Dodd and Sheffield Pike. The descent through the hidden wooded valley of Glencoyne, by Seldom Seen is a delight. |

"On a sunny day in August the summit is a delectable place. It is richly clothed with heather, and larches almost reach the top of the north side." |

From the summit of Sheffield Pike we will descend west to Nick Head where a good path will dorp down into the Glencoyne Valley, through the beautiful Glenoyne Wood and the Ullswater lakeshore path back to Glenridding.
