Grid Reference: NY 26679 27785
Height: 865 metres/2838 feet

"Commanding the most magnificent panoramic view of the hear and soul of Lakeland."
A. Wainwright

Skiddaw Little Man, one mile south of the summit of Skiddaw, offers a far better viewpoint over much of the Lake District than it's parent peak to the north, the stunning view south over Keswick to Derwentwater, and along Borrowdale to the high mountains beyond must rank amongst the best in the Lake District, everything one wants to view is in one direction, framed by the Helvellyn ridge to the east and Grisedale Pike to the west.

Skiddaw Little Man is best climbed on descent from Skiddaw, with the panorama ahead, descending over the Little Man and down the path towards the Lesser Man, the cairn a short distance below the summit. A good descent from here leads east, crossing to Lonscale Fell and descending south from the summit to meet the main path below, this avoids the 'pony track' path.
