Glaramara & Bessyboot
A good day today climbing Glaramara and Bessyboot from Stonethwaite, there was a little cloud on the tops from time to time today but a slight breeze had blown away much of the haze of the past few days.

Glaramara from Stonethwaite
A good day climbing Glaramara today from Stonethwaite.
We set off at 10am and climbed by Big Stanger Gill and up onto the summit of Bessyboot. There was quite a breeze here so we didn't stop for to long and were soon passing Tarn At Leaves and on the way to the summit of Rosthwaite Fell.
As we climbed the wind was getting stronger, we climbed by Combe Door and up to the wonderful summit of Combe Head where after a few photos we crossed to the summit of Glaramara, stopping just below the summit for a short lunch stop.
After lunch we descended the Thornythwaite Fell path into The Combe dropping down the path to Mountain View and following the paths back to Stonethwaite.

Rosthwaite Fell Navigation Course
Day 2 of our Navigation training course, and today our venue was Rosthwaite Fell.
After parking up in Seatoller we walked along the road for a few minutes before taking a Footpath up towards the fells. The mist was sitting low on the fells, so it would provide Carol some extra challenge which she did not experience yesterday.
We made our way up by the Gill to Tarn at Leaves where we were already in the mist. Working towards her Silver NNAS as well we took this opportnity to use the 1:50k maps too. After a couple of legs with this map we moved back onto the 1:25k map and continued with multiple bearings.
In just the 2 days Carol's skills had made a marked improvement, and she felt her confidence had improved massively. Congrats to Carol on passing her Silver NNAS with flying colours!

Glaramara and the Allen Crags
A glorious day today climbing Glaramara and the Allen Crags from Seathwaite.
We set off from Seathwaite at 10am and climbed the steep slope by Hind Gill, eventually emerging into the bright sunshine above the gill as the slope eased. We continued reaching the summit of Glaramara in good time and after a short photo stop on the summit and a quick drink we were on our way again following the ridge past High House Tarn and climbing to the summit of the Allen Crags.
We stopped out of the breeze at the summit of The Allen Crags to eat our packed lunches and to admire the views, although it was sunny and warm the air was very hazy and we couldn't see too far.
From The Allen Crags we descended to the wind shelter below Esk Hause and followed the path down below Great End to Sprinkling Tarn and out along the ridge to the summit of Seathwaite Fell dropping down to the Styhead Gill path back to Seathwaite.

Glaramara
A good day on Glaramara today, we climbed from Seathwaite onto the ridge by Bessyboot, climbing to the summit and following the ridge south passing Tarn At Leaves before climbing to the summit of Dovesnest Crag an up to Combe Head.
Some great weather on the climb, light drizzle as we started cleared and we had some great views as we climbed and didn't reach the cloud until we were on the summit of Glaramara, although this was blowing around and giving us some views even then!
We descended the Thorneythwaite Crag ridge north down to Mountain View and followed the path back to Stonethwaite.
