Some of the most dramatic and famous scenery in the Lake District can be found on the south traverse of Great Gable, a wonderful rocky route that takes the walker past some of the most famous rock climbing areas in the country.
This wonderful path climbs by Kern Knotts to Great Napes and the famous Napes Needle before passing below Sphinx Rock and then climbing up to the summit of Great Gable via the Westmorland Cairn, one of the best viewpoints in the Lake District.
