Scafell Pike from Seathwaite

A good day today climbing Scafell Pike from Seathwaite, despite some heavy showers, especially during the morning.

We set off from Seathwaite at 9am and headed up the path past Stockley Bridge towards Sty Head and Scafell Pike, there were a few really heavy showers in the first hour as we climbed towards Sty Head Pass, some of them hail showers, but we pressed on and were soon by the stretcher box at Sty Head Pass.

We crossed onto the Corridor Route and crossed Skew Gill and followed the Corridor Route up, stopping for lunch just above Piers Gill in the shelter of some rocks.

After lunch we climbed the final slopes up to the summit of Scafell Pike, the weather up here wasn't great today and we didn't stay around for too long, it was soon decided that we were running a little short of daylight today so we opted to retrace our steps and descend the Corridor Route back to Seathwaite.

We made good progress descending back by Sty Head and down to Seathwaite, getting back to Seathwaite Farm just before the sun set.

A good day on Scafell Pike despite some poor weather, well done to everyone today.
