A great day spent on the fells above Elterwater covering basic ropework skills. A course suitable for anybody looking to take thir Summer Mountain Leader award or those looking to expand their skills.

A day spent above Elterwater in the Langdale Valley, using a series of crags we will teach you the skills required.

Over the day we will cover the following topics:

  • Direct and indirect belays and when to use them
  • Suitable Knots
  • Selecting an anchor
  • Efficient ropework
  • Abseils
  • Group management

Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above.
