A wonderful route climbing some fine ridges above the Patterdale Valley and taking in the summit of Thornthwaite Crag as well as the lesser trodden fells of Gray Crag, Caudale Moor and Hartsop Dodd.

From the village of Hartsop we will climb by Gray Crag, the long northern ridge of Thornthwaite Crag to the summit of Thornthwaite Crag, with it's wonderful views over Troutbeck and Windermere.
We will return to Hartsop over Stony Cove Pike, the summit of Caudale Moor before descending the fine ridge north over Hartsop Dodd and descend into the village of Hartsop.
