Whinlatter
|
"Whinlatter tempts few walkers, the steep slopes of heather and scree above the Pass being too rough to contemplate, but the crest of the fell is entirely different - a delightful undulating ridge, a joy to walk upon." |

Whinlatter Top, the highest point on the ridge to the north of Whinlatter Pass is a surprisingly good summit, a long grassy ridge, descending west to the equally picturesque summit of Brown How.
The views from the summit are spectacular, particularly south, looking across Whinlatter Pass to Grisedale Pike and the surrounding Fells.
A short descent to the north brings the walker down to the forestry tracks and an easy walk either down to Aiken Beck or north towards Lord's Seat and Barf.
