Binsey
|
"Binsey occupies the extreme north-west corner of the Lake District. Beyond is the coastal plain, then the sea, then Scotland; nothing intervenes to interrupt this sweeping panorama. What a domain, and what a throne to view it from." |

The solitary summit of Binsey sits apart from the mass of the Northern Fells, separated from the Back O'Skiddaw fells by the trough containing Over Water.
The fine summit is a surprisingly good viewpoint, from where as well as the wonderful view of the Skiddaw massif to the south east the view north west across the coastal plain to the Solway and Scotland is exceptional.
