Esk Pike

Grid Reference: NY 23660 07505
Height: 885 metres/2904 feet

"Did it but stand alone, away from such enticing neighbours, Esk Pike would rank highly among the really worth-while mountain climbs."
A Wainwright

At the head of the Eskdale Valley, surrounded by the high peaks of the Scafell range and Bowfell lies Esk Pike, at 885m one of the higher mountains of the Lake District, but surrounded by higher summits.

A short walk over Ore Gap connects Esk Pike to the wonderful Bowfell, while the broad Esk Hause links Esk Pike to Great End and the Scafell range.

A fine ridge climbs Esk Pike from Upper Eskdale over Pike De Bield, a quiet unspoilt ridge, well away from all the feet crossing Esk Hause to Scafell Pike, but with stunning views of the Scafells throughout.
