Lingmoor Fell
|
"Bracken and heather, some ragged patches of juniper and well-timbered estate woods, many crags and a delectable little tarn, all combine to make this fell a colourful addition to the varied attractions of the Langdale area." |

The valleys of Little Langdale and Great Langdale are divided by a rambling, crescent shaped ridge that descends from the higher fells too the west, dipping down to a low at Blea Tarn before rising again east. This ridge is Lingmoor Fell, once heavily quarried but nowadays returned to nature.
A wonderful fell covered in heather with many surprises, not the least of which is the picturesque Lingmoor Tarn.
Side Pike to the west of the summit of Lingmoor Fell is a subsidiary summit worthy of a visit, a rocky summit that upon first inspection offers no easy route to the summit, but an easy path lies on the western side of the fell.
