"the rich rewards its summit offers are out of all proportion to the slight effort of ascent." |

The small shapely summit of Hallin Fell, although only a short stroll from the roadside is a wonderful viewpoint over both Ullswater and the valley of Martindale. the summit is a popular picnic spot on a sunny day, and rightly so, no summit in the Lake District can offer so much for such small effort.
Thee lower slopes offer much of interest and the low level path along the lakeshore is an interesting walk with Kailpot Crag offering sunning views over Ullswater.
