We begin by getting the mini-bus to Grasmere from Keswick, from where we will walk back to Keswick over the Central Fells. From Grasmere we walk up the track through Far Easedale from where we climb onto the wide ridge at Greenup Edge. At this point we turn north, with views over the whole of the Lake District as we follow the long wide ridge to Keswick. On the way we take in the fells of Ullscarf, High Tove, High Seat, Blaeberry Fell and Walla Crag before dropping down into the woods for a shaded finale into the centre of Keswick. Although this walk is a long one, much of the height gain is done at the start, with most of the day spent high in the fells which really form the centre of the whole Lake District. Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above. |
