Fairfield

"Fairfield, a grand mountain with grand satellites in support."
A.W Wainwright

The huge mass of Fairfield lies on the long ridge stretching south from Helvellyn towards Windermere, dropping to it's lowest point at Grisedale Hause the ridge climbs steeply again to the flat plateau of Fairfield.

From the summit of Fairfield several ridges drop down on each side ot the mountain giving some splendid ridge walks from all sides, the pick of these are the classic Fairfield Horseshoe, two long ridges climbing up from Ambleside and the Deepdale Horseshoe another classic long day on grat ridges from Patterdale.
