A wonderful route taking in the summits of Coniston Old Man as well as Dow Crag and Brim Fell, stunning views throughout across southern Lakeland as well as over Morecambe Bay and beyond.

From Coniston Village we will climb by the Walna Scar Road across the southern flanks of Coniston Old Man, passing by Boo Tarn and then crossing the packhorse bridge over Torver Beck.
The path eventually climbs to the ridge of Walna Scar, the pass between Coniston and the Duddon Valley, from here we turn to the north, following the ridge over the fine summits of Brown Pike and then Buck Pike before reaching the summit of Dow Crag.
There are wonderful views in all directions from the summit of Dow Crag, but probably the most arresting are the views to the west, across the Duddon Valley to Harter Fell, with the Scafell range beyond and the Irish Sea to the west.
From the summit of Harter Fell we descend to the north east, dropping down to Goats Hawse and then climbing again above Goats Water to the summit of Coniston Old Man.
From the summit of Coniston Old Man our route takes us along the ridge to the north, crossing the broad summit of Brim Fell before descending to Levers Hawse, here we drop down the path towards Levers Water, descending through Gill Cove to Levers Water, following the path south by the old coppermines into Boulder Valley.

Directions
From Ambleside: Follow the A593 signposted to Coniston, follow this all the way to Coniston, park in the car park on Ruskin Avenue, we will meet outside the Tourist Information Centre at the car park.
Bus Services
Coniston is well sevices by the 505 route, the meet point is next to the main bus stop.
The 505 runs between Coniston and Ambleside, via Hawkshead.
