“glorious views, that to the north being of unsurpassed beauty”
A Wainwright
One of the less trodden routes, Glaramara, near Stonethwaite village in the Lake District is a great chance to get off the beaten track whilst still being amongst the highest fells in England.
The route over Bessyboot, Dovenest Crags and Coombe Head follows a ridge with hardly a path in sight, just a gentle rambling ridge climbing over several rocky crags.
Let our guides take you away from the crowds to find solitude in the Borrowdale fells with great views of the high fells all around the ridge.
“Much of Lakeland's appeal derives from the very lovely names of it's mountains and valleys and lakes and rivers, which fits the scenery so well”
A Wainwright
From Stonethwaite we will climb steeply to the summit of Bessyboot.
