A Wainwright
A spectacular route climbing to the summit of England's fifth highest mountain, taking in some of the best rugged scenery in the Lake District.
From Seathwaite we will follow the track to Stockley Bridge, climbing towards Sty Head Gill and taking a steep route to the summit of Seathwaite Fell, a glorious viewpoint over the Borrowdale Valley.
From Seathwaite Fell we follow the ridge south, passing several small tarns until we reach the shores of Sprinkling Tarn, a picturesque pool below the north face of Great End.
An intricate path takes us up The Band from Sprinkling Tarn, rocky at times this ridge is a wonderful route to the summit of Great End with some stunning scenery along the way.
We leave the summit of Great End and descend through Calf Cove to Esk Hause before descending to the col below the Allen Crags, from here it's just a short climb up onto the summit of the Allen Crags, although this is an optional extra summit it's well worth the extra effort with it's wonderful views across Sprinkling Tarn to Great Gable and some of the best views of Great End.
Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above.
