Loughrigg Fell

Grid Reference: NY 34697 05139
Height: 335 metres/1099 feet

"Of the lesser heights of Lakeland, Loughrigg Fell is pre-eminent."
A Wainwright

Loughrigg is a wonderful sprawling summit, rambling across rocky peaks and tarns between the Brathay and Rothay Valleys, with wonderful views over Grasmere, Rydal, Windermere, Langdale and the surrounding countryside.

Loughrigg lends itself to a short hours walk too the summit or a longer gentle ramble exploring the rough countryside, tarns, lakes and caves in between.

Each approach has it's own merits, be it the views from the victorian 'Terrace' path above Grasmere or the classic view of the Langdale Pikes from Loughrigg Tarn or just exploring the open fellside.
