Grid Reference: NY 34408 14154
Height: 891 metres/2923 feet

"Nethermost Pike is magnificent, hardly less so than Helvellyn and seeming more so because of it's impressive surroundings."
A.W Wainwright

From the summit of Helvellyn the main ridge south descends, crossing a depression before climbing again to the summit of Nethermost Pike, ignored by many who pace over the lower slopes climbing to the summit of Helvellyn, the broad rocky summit is a wonderful viewpoint of the rocky surroundings. Magnificent views over Striding Edge and the steep rocky Nethermost Cove, dropping steeply to the east from the summit plateau can be had from the summit.

The steep eastern flanks of Nethermost Pike offer many routes of interest with many strenuous routes climbing from Patterdale via Grisedale either climbing the east ridge or via several variations over Dollywaggon Pike.
