"A sylvan approach gives added pleasure to this simple climb. As an introduction to the Wythop Valley (an introduction warmly to be commended) this route is excellent and instructive."
A Wainwright

The wonderful grassy summited Sale Fell, between the beautiful Wythop Valley, Embleton and Bassenthwaite Lake makes a great short walk with stunning views throughout. The long grassy summit ridge is a perfect place for a picnic on a good day with views over Wythop, Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite Lake.

A great short walk can be made in combining Sale Fell with a walk along the Wythop Valley, or even with a circuit of Wythop and Ling Fell.
