Bakestall

Grid Reference: NY 26647 30740
Height: 673 metres/2208 feet

"It would pass almost without comment but for it's command of a scene of extra ordinary interest."
A. Wainwright

On the northern flank of Skiddaw a grassy shoulder descends towards Dash Falls, one prominent summit lies on this shoulder, Bakestall, when seen from below a shapely summit with crags below.

Bakestall makes a good route off Skiddaw to the Skiddaw House supply road, descending to Peter House Farm on the Orthwaite Road.

The summit offers a fine view over Great Calva and the Back O'Skiddaw fells to the north.
