| "The scenery throughout is of lonely moorland, but restful rather than dreary - a place of sheep and singing larks." |

The Grassy summit of Lank Rigg, sits high above the Cold Fell Road at the western edge of the Lake District with wonderful views over the West Cumbrian Plain and across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man (weather permitting).
Lank Rigg can either be climbs as a short walk from the Cold Fell Road or combined with summits to the north and east, including Grike, Caw Fell and Crag Fell.
The approach from the Cold Fell Road is an interesting short walk, particularly on a sunny summer afternoon, when the skylarks are overhead, this route crosses the tributaries of the River Calder before climbing over Whoap to the summit of Lank Rigg.
