"As a viewpoint for the Wasdale fells, the summit is magnificently placed, and it is fitting that a reward such as this should be earned only by effort."
A Wainwright

Middle Fell may not be the highest or the most famous of the fells surrounding Wasdale but it has it's own charms that are evident to anybody that climbs to it's rocky summit. Tier after tier of rocky crags flank the southern slopes above Wasdale making the path up from Greendale the only easy route to the summit.

The view from the summit is magnificent, with the Scafell range seen across Wastwater and an impressive view of the Wasdale Screes to the south.

Several good routes can be found by the scrambler on the crags on the southern face of Middle Fell, high above Wastwater.
