Why is Church Beck more expensive than other ghyll scrambles?

Posted byon Tuesday, 12 September 2017Church Beck is on private land, the landowners charge groups to use their land and use the money raised towards the upkeep, this includes repairs to the structures alongside the beck which are relics of the areas industrial past.

If I'm not taking part in the activity am I able to watch from the side?

Posted byon Tuesday, 12 September 2017There is a path alongside Church Beck in the lower section, but much of the beck is in a deep gorge and is not visible from the paths.
Stickle Ghyll in Langdale is more suitable for viewing from the banks where a good path runs alongside the ghyll.

Are dogs allowed in the ghyll?

Are there changing facilities at the meet point?
