“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as the sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves”
John Muir

Activity Day memories! Silver Anniversary weekend Review by lynn
There was only me and my husband with John the guide for the whole day. He was really friendly and very patient with us. We had rock climbing on a crag for the morning with a steep climb up the Sticklebarn Crag behind the National Trust pub but the views were spectacular. We had limited climbing experience and I was a bit sceptical of the height of the Crag initially. The rock climbing was slightly scary but John reassured us and we did ourselves proud! even if it took me longer than most. After lunch we then donned wetsuits and a helmet and headed for a great adventure. We went scrambling up the Stickle Gill and (having had rock climbing instruction in the morning) it was easier to navigate and really really good fun. once you know you're going to get wet, be a bit cold you really start to enjoy it. Yes you are going to be icy cold when you jump in but it is so exhilarating you do it again and again and start to enjoy it! we took our own waterproof camera and John kindly took some of us together and sent them to us afterwards which was a really nice touch. Ive told everyone how much fun we had and about the Lake District Walker site on our return. Thank you again John! I cannot wait to come back to do it again! (Posted on 12/06/2017)
