"A beautiful labyrinth, a joy to the explorer but the despair of the map-maker."
A Wainwright

The ridge between Watendlath and the Borrowdale Valley rises over first marshy and then rocky, undulating heathery ground towards the higher summit of Ullscarf to the south west, nestled in a nook on this ridge is the picturesque Dock Tarn and just above it the summit of Great Crag, a small rocky summit with great views over the Borrowdale Valley.

Dock Tarn below the summit is worth a visit alone, a quiet idylic tarn, well off the beaten track.
