"Flowers, heather and bilberries bloom on this pleasant little ridge where stands the summit cairn."
A.W Wainwright

Gowbarrow Fell above the north western shores of Ullswater is a wonderful rambling little fellside with stunning views over Ullswater throughout. The terraced paths on the lower slopes give some stunning views over the northern end of the lake and as you climb higher the views become more extensive.

Gowbarrow Park, which encompasses Gowbarrow Fell is owned by the National Trust and it's lower slopes are very popular with those visiting Aira Force, the scenic waterfalls, popularised by William Wordsworth.
